Xlear Nasal Spray is a saline nose wash which includes Xylitol and Grapefruit Seed Extract. Xylitol is a form of alcohol sugar which is often used as a sweetener. In this usage it is included due to its apparent capacity to inhibit the streptococcus bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae), and influenza bacteria (Haemophilus influenzae) in tissue cells in the nose. Usage:

Gently clean your nose by gently blowing. Remove the bottle's safety clip. The first time you use it, prime the pump by holding it upright and pumping one or more times into a tissue until solution comes out. Insert nozzle into nostril and depress pump completely while breathing through your nose. Spray 1-2 times in each nostril.

For best results, use at least twice daily. The metered nasal pump sprayer provides a precise amount of the soothing spray in a fine mist. Wipe nozzle clean after each use and replace cap.

Use as needed to cleanse the nasal passages and sinuses.
